1941
26 April
60 cadets paraded and took the Oath of Allegiance before Sqn Ldr Gyler Murray DSO and Flt Lt Quirk of the RAF.

21 Sep 12
Officers and 104 cadets visited the aerodrome to which they are attached for a tour. Some 30 cadets had the first air experience flight for the squadron in Avro Anson and Airspeed Oxford aircraft.
12 November
At a meeting of officers it was agreed that
'the form Mr to be adopted except for the Commanding Officer who shall be referred to as the CO'
The CO stated 'discipline of the officers must be tightened up and that all officers shall be present for parades 5 minutes before the time of the parade'
The CO instructed 'any officer requiring leave of absence shall apply at least the parade before leave is required'
19 Dec
The squadron held a Christmas social at the Conservative Club. The squadron now totalled 135 cadets.

22 Nov
All cadets issued with new uniforms and greatcoats. The latter should be of great assistance to those on guard duties.

Sgt Scott was chosen for the 1st overseas trip.

The band led the parade and provided a guard of honour for the opening of Oakham's new ATC Headquarters.
1953
Feb
N Payne awarded a flying scholarship at Sywell. He follows FS Brown, Sgts Bradley Clarke and Harris who have also been awarded scholarships since the scheme was introduced 2 ½ years ago.

New style uniforms are issued.
Sgt J Hancock, Cpl R Percival, Cdt M Corney and R N Hudson took part in an initiative test at disused RAF Nth Wilham spending the night in a phone box.
July
FS Maycock acted as Wing Commander during the annual Wing Parade at RAF Cottesmore. All the executive positions were occupied by cadets including Sgt J Hancock and Sgt J read. The cadets had attended practices during the previous 10 weeks but were not told of their appointments until arriving for the parade.
Gp Capt 'Johnnie' Johnson Station Commander watched the parade.
1959
July
Just 2 hours after returning from camp at RAF Binbrook, eight cadets were sent on an initiative exercise to get to the Elite cinema in
1960
During the 1960's the squadron was the proud owner of a Link Trainer. There is no record of when it was obtained or disposed of.
1966
May
Cdts Burdett, A Nixon and D Nixon won the Vulcan Trophy Quiz at Wing Parade & Sports
1967
In March Cpls Viccars and Ghilotti won their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh awards.
In April Cdts Gilbert, Viccars, Cpl Ghilotti, Sgt Luker and WO Bosworth gained 3rd place in the aircraft model competition.
1968
Cdt Randall won 1st place in the 100 yds and 220 yds at the North Region Sports thus helping Wing to win the overall trophy which was held for a month by the Squadron.
The band was very active playing in carnivals in Market Harborough, Desborough, and Kibworth, Farndon Fields school fete, Founders Day Parade, Battle of Britain Parade and Remembrance Parade where CWO Wade and FS Burgess played Last Post.
