We like to help out in the local community
Charities
The Squadron has adopted two charities that it supports each year.
You will see from the header on the home page that the site is dedicated to the memory of two young people who tragically died while members of the squadron.
The two organisations we support provided valuable help and support to the two young people - Leicester Royal Infirmary Oncology Unit and Macmillan Nurses.
The Squadron has raised several thousand pounds for the two charities through bag packing, sponsored walks and raffles and will continue to do so.

In 2005 the cadets raised over £300 in just two parade nights for the Tsunami Appeal. The events included a 'slave auction' and an auction for the chance to be CO for the night. The photo shows the new CO taking final parade, shorter in all respects.
Charity Ball
First held in 2007 this is growing in popularity with cadets, ex-cadets parents and friends. As well as a great disco refreshments and other entertainment are provided included a Grand Charity Auction. The event raises nearly £2000 each year and is rapidly becoming the social highlight of the year.
Community work
Band
The band is often asked to perform at local charity events and fêtes including the Make a Wish Foundation and Lutterworth Carnival as well as leading the Battle of Britain and Remembrance Day parades in our local town.
We also lead a Remembrance Parade at Oakham and have played for several of the local RBL branch banner dedications.
